Text Box: August Ramblings Well I'm back.  Not saying much.  Sherry and Loretta did a great job while I was "Rambling" around the country.  I didn't get as much golf in as I wanted to but that's the life of a "Chicken Farmer".  It rained a lot and I don't do rain if I don't have to.  The trip was good and just what the Doctor ordered.  I'm back, relaxed and rested.  Still not stress free and my golf has not improved but my attitude is much better. Seems there were some changes while I was gone.  We said Good-bye to Sherry Morris.  She will be missed immensely.  I want to thank Loretta Rahn for stepping up and doing the Ramblings and Loretha Harrah for filling in as Team Play Co-Captain with Bev Gillaspy.  A club is only as strong as the members and this says we are a strong club.  Thanks for helping out. Speaking of Team Play,  our girls are in 1st place with only one match left.  Good playing!  They have always said that if you can play Wilcox, you can play anywhere.  I think that our record speaks for itself.  The last match will be at Canyon Oaks on the 11th of August.  By the time this goes to print,  it will be all over and I know next month we can "crow" (hopefully).  It was reported to me that a "congratulations" goes out to Codie Powers for shooting a 79 at the last team play match July 24th at Wilcox.  Great game Codie!  What an inspiration! Election of Officers is coming up at our August meeting.  I hope we can count on some of you girls that want to participate but don't think you could do the job to step up and say "yes" when ask to serve.  One year is not a lot of time to give.  So if the nominating committee asks you to run for an office, try saying yes.  I've just about served in every office now and it has been rewarding.  There is an open day at Wilcox in September.  I believe it is on or around the 22nd of September.  Codie is working on the final details with Bill.  Hopefully we can get some ladies from out of the area to show some interest in coming up to play.   Codie will report on this at the next meeting, which has been changed to the 18th, due to the Team Play at Canyon Oaks on the 11th.  We also have a PAWS tournament coming up in September.  It looks like this will be our last as PAWS is shutting down.  What a loss for our furry friends.  Lets make this a good showing to support them to the end.
